Goodbye-Microsoft

March 30th, 2008

Small hours of the day.

Another crash without a reason. Another loss of time and data. I’m tired of this. Since I didn’t have time to free enough disk space and prepare myself for changing OS, I had to restore that piece of shit back to life once more. Last time I hope.

In always run,

Comedy time

March 23rd, 2008

Long time no see but let’s cut to the chase.

There is the big fish – let’s say Tony – and there’s his bodyguard, Mun, the professional. Tony meets people, bargains, partys, has ladies. The last one’s a problem. Tony’s last date is his gunman’s ex-wife which seem to upset Mun in a particular manner. He sees them touching, he pukes.

It’s just a rough idea, still, I consider it a good base for a storyline. I wish I had more time to play with all new Blender’s features. And to unwrap my tablet. I hope it didn’t get rusty.

Way overworked,
Matthew

Occupational experience

March 17th, 2008

Weird thing. It’s something you gain at work while solving uncommon problems, yet, absence of it keeps you out of work. And if you think odd jobs are answer then think again. Would you employ someone basing on a CV without any serious record? Even if the interview goes well, a reasonable employer will give a job to a man who doesn’t need further training and showed the same or even less amount of skill.

I look around and see five choices. First, the common one: do nothing. Second, hopeless: keep sending applications for positions one actually would like to get. Third, naive: make a masterpiece, then wait until someone gives a crap (!?). Fourth which is typical science-fiction: open your own business providing a service related to your occupation, yet, uncommon in your area. And finally fifth – the most likely one: find a job below your qualifications.

Not sympathising with any of those,
Matthew

Ambitious rutines

March 14th, 2008

From time to time I’m haunted by an idea of making a short animation based on a script. I did few in my earlier animator’s career but those weren’t preceded by storyboards nor written descriptions. I worked blind. As a result I’ve never made anything more than a simple presentation. And I’ve got so many concepts! Like…

…a movie of a new life coming into being, a division of a cell which grows strong in numbers and then forms a human body.

A similar animation with a virus that drives healthy cells to sickness, reproduces and spreads it’s major destructive potential.

Another one showing story of a piece of an open source code migrating from hands to hands, from class to class, gaining tools that allow collaboration and multiplies it’s functionality over and over until some day… it’s taken from the world of freedom and sold on a commercial market. Because that’s how life is now.

“Some day I’ll buy a knife and cut everyone around.” Or do other stuff. Some day.

Whining me,
Matthew

After midnight

March 14th, 2008

It’s late night.

I came back from my odd job’s customer about two hours ago. It took long run to satisfy everyone but it’s done… methinks. It was busy day and still, I can’t fall asleep. I tried to recover some disk space, it’s always boring I guess. I’m not sure if 03:38am is still today or already tomorrow. Seems wrong both ways, thought, it isn’t important any more. My urgent necessity to run speaks up. Need for speed and wind.

Cheers,
Matthew

Magandang tanghali

March 13th, 2008

Hi there,

It’s a rainy afternoon – almost an evening. Today’s the day to do nothing, yet, I’ve got to help my girlfriend with her thesis. That’s how I say “welcome to my life” on this log. But hey! I’d better hurry take a shower and hit the road ’cause my evening nine o’clock has a similar job for me. It’s neat and easy money… from strangers. Girlfriends get it with a whole package for free. Can someone tell me why it actually works this way? Some day we will split so why bother? ‘Cause I don’t know…

Cheers,
Matthew
